# Schedule a Meet

Not every meeting happens right now — sometimes you just need to lock in a time and invite people in advance. That's what Schedule a Meeting is for.

### How to schedule

You can schedule a meeting from two places:

* The **Home** screen — tap **Schedule a Meet**
* The **Meetings** section → tap **Schedule a meeting**

Fill in the details:

* **Meeting title** — give it a name so people know what it's about
* **Date** — you can only schedule meetings in the future, not the past
* **Time** — your local timezone is shown automatically, so there's no guesswork
* **Duration** — pick how long the meeting should run
* **Participants** — add people by email

Once everything looks good, tap **Schedule a meeting** to confirm.

### Inviting participants

Right now, you can only invite people **by email** — so you'll need to know the email address of everyone you want to add.

The moment you create the meeting, each invited person gets an **email invitation**. If they're already a dMeet user, the meeting will also show up directly in their **Meetings** section under **Upcoming** — no need to dig through their inbox.

{% hint style="success" icon="person-limbs-wide" %}
If you invite someone who isn't a dMeet user yet, don't worry — once they sign up with that same email, the invitation will be recognized and the meeting will appear for them automatically.
{% endhint %}

### Managing a scheduled meeting

As the **host**, you're in full control. You can:

* Edit the title, date, time, or duration
* Add or remove participants
* Cancel the meeting entirely
* Join the meeting directly once it's time

Every time you change the date, time, or duration, **all participants get an automatic update email** — so nobody's left wondering if the plan changed.

{% hint style="info" %}
There are no separate reminder emails before the meeting — participants only get notified when the meeting is created, and again if details change.
{% endhint %}

**Participants** can see all the meeting details and who else is invited, but they can't edit anything. They do have one option of their own: marking themselves as not attending (decline), so the host knows not to expect them.

### When the meeting starts

Once the scheduled time arrives, the meeting becomes live — you'll see a countdown turn into a **Join** option. From this point on, the meeting can no longer be edited or canceled; you can only join it.

### A few things to know

{% hint style="info" %}
**Daily invite limit:** to keep things fair and prevent spam, hosts can send up to **30 meeting invitations per day**. If you hit the limit, you'll see a message letting you know — just try again tomorrow.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Repeated complaints:** if multiple participants report a host for spammy or unwanted invitations, that host may lose the ability to schedule meetings.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" icon="hand" %}
**Blocking:** if a participant blocks a host, that host won't be able to schedule meetings with them, call them directly, or message them in chat.
{% endhint %}
