# Meeting chat

The meeting chat is for messages to everyone in the meeting. For one-on-one messages outside meetings, use [private chats](https://docs.dmeet.org/calls-and-chats/private-chats).

Tap the chat button in the bottom-right corner of the meeting to open it.

### What you can do

* Send a message to everyone in the meeting
* Reply to a message: tap and hold on mobile, or hover on a computer
* React with an emoji
* Copy a message

Hosts and co-hosts can pin a message. Only the latest pinned message is kept.

The meeting chat isn't saved after the meeting ends, and if you leave and rejoin, earlier messages aren't shown again. To keep a record of the conversation, use [AI Summary](https://docs.dmeet.org/ai-features/ai-summary).

### Transcription tab

Next to the chat is the **Transcription** tab. It shows a live transcript of the conversation. With AI Translator on, it also shows what others say translated into your language. See [AI Voice Translator](https://docs.dmeet.org/ai-features/ai-voice-translator).
